Our History - Your Holiday. Tipperary is a fascinating county of immense natural beauty possessing a unique and ancient heritage. The county is blessed with world famous heritage sites and attractions. They range from the magnificent Rock of Cashel, Hore Abbey, Cashel, Athessel Abbey Golden Ormond Castle in Carrick on Suir, Holy Cross Abbey , Cahir Castle , Swiss Cottage ,Cahir , the Main Guard in Clonmel and the walls towns of Fethard and Clonmel. These are all easily accessible and make Tipperary an ideal touring location.
Tipperary's culture is also varied. It ranges from Irish music, Gaelic Games (the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in Thurles in 1884) farming/agriculture and horse breeding. Brú Ború in Cashel is a colourful and exciting show of the very best of Irish music, song and dance. Irish music sessions can be found in most of the towns and many of the villages. It is rich in pastoral scenery with green hills Stud farms and racing stables dot the countryside from where horses have been bred and raced to grace the international equestrian stage.
